BLOODY, GRUESOME and LOTS OF FUN
*** STRICTLY DRESS UP ***
The Civic Underground is undoubtedly the classiest club in Sydney. This reputation is further reinforced through their latest upgrade – extra speakers and subs – that gives full appreciation to the esoteric art of great sound.
Reckless Republic, Mantra Collective and Cause are taking over the bunker this summer. Our residents Murat Kilic, Robbie Lowe, Michelle Owen, Mike Witcombe, Ant J Steep and Phil Smart will be hosting top underground Dj’s from around the world, starting with Jesse Rose, Mr. C, Rodriguez Jnr and Margaret Dyga.
Jesse Rose was raised on Motown soul, jazz and eighties funk in London, moving to Bristol to begin throwing club nights with old friend Jamie Anderson at the beginning of the nineties.
His record label, “A-Sided” put Jesse Rose on the musical map in 2005 with a cutting-edge spin on a classic house sound which led him to align with some of dance music’s most legendary innovators such as Switch, Henrik Schwarz, Derrick Carter, Claude Vonstroke and Hot Chip as well as supporting and working with a new generation of groundbreaking producers like Seven Davis Jr, Oliver Dollar, and Davide Squillace. Over his career Jesse has seen, developed and created some of house music’s history.
